Former Perak MB wins suit against Utusan

vox populi small thumbnailFerdtan: With the RM250,000 award from the court, former Perak MB Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin can now bid for half of the number plate WWW1, which costs the Johor royalty a half a million ringgit.

Now with this exonerated judgment, maybe Nizar should humbly request for an audience with the Johor sultan to clear the misunderstanding that the Johor palace had with him.

The moral of the story is that we (even the royalty) should not to trust anything that Utusan Malaysia prints.

According to justice Rosnaini, there was express malice and ill intent in the reporting as well as twisting and misrepresentation in the article. And this is supposed to be the Malay national mainstream newspaper that no Malay is supposed to criticise?

Pimai2tangtu: Utusan, the Umno mouthpiece and propaganda tool, has been paying damages for defamation suits, one after another.

But this newspaper is immune from any action by the Home Ministry. So they will continue to churn out lies and half truth, including inflaming racial and religious sentiments, for their political masters.

Moontime: Utusan, could you please stop spreading lies and slander? How you manage to ignore tell-tale signs of declining readership, ever increasing libel suits and general disgust whenever one mentions your name is anybody's guess.

Names like Abdul Rahim Kajai, Ishak Muhammad@Pak Sako, Yusof Ishak and the likes have graced the editorials, written with integrity, thoughtful ideas and some even became a source of inspiration for freedom fighters of their era.

Now you are but a pitiful shadow of your past glory. You will keep on paying the price if you don't stop printing lies and slander just to appease your political masters. Don't you realise that Umno is slowly destroying your legacy?

OMG!!: The judge should have awarded exemplary damage for this is not the first time that Utusan had fabricated lies and concoctions and had lost all the defamation suits against it.

Why has the home minister yet to revoke Utusan's licence? Because it is an Umno mouthpiece?

'Syabas used NRW fund to buy cars, repair office'

Anonymous_40f4: Another RM700,000 went into the pockets of the Syabas cronies for cooked-up projects which were totally unnecessary and was not at all related to reducing non-revenue water (NRW).

Instead they renovate their offices to turn them into something like a five-star hotel and the lords in Syabas live like arrogant kings.

Kanasai: This is typical crony mentality. Once funds are available, they will be channelled to uses not related to the purpose of the fund. Even funds for cow-rearing ended up for condos.

With this reply, I wonder how the minority shareholders will comment on the bonus payout to Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd (PNHB) executive chairperson Rozali Ismail. Would they still consider it as justified?

Well Thats Fantastic: The Selangor government needs to change the law so that the state entities are the ones that control their assets and not state entities that have their hands tied by federal government's crony policy.

Change the state constitution so that state law overrides federal law with regard to control of state assets.

I'm pretty sure the sultan would support such a change, especially if it meant the taking back Kuala Lumpur as part of Selangor like what was promised back when he was forced to give up the land where Putrajaya sits on now.

Fair Play: MB Khalid Ibrahim, now that you have a two-thirds majority in the Selangor state assembly and have a free hand to correct all the wrongs committed, leave no stone unturned to disclose the extent of the abuses at the expense of the Selangor rakyat.

Bobster: Privatisation is meant to rob the country, no thanks to former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Thank you, Khalid for trying to stop the leakages and restore what has become a rotten system. Continue to carry out the great work. It's time to take over the wasteful privatisation projects and give them back to the rakyat.

Michael Ng 34f2: Khalid, the time to be soft is over. Take on the hard approach to this Syabas affair. Do whatever is within your power, expose all their dirt.

This water affair is truly piratisation and not privatisation. Stop the arrogance of these cronies, especially Rozali.
