I refer to Clash's letter which says PAS is passing off an opportunity to garner votes from liberals by its recent statements on clothing rules.

My view is that no party can satisfy 100 percent of everyone's needs, and when voting, we should choose a party that fulfils most of our criteria. Non-Muslims are wary of PAS' rules even though they may not be affected by them. The Muslims however accept them, as even in non-PAS areas the women wear the head covers as it is a requirement for a Muslim female to cover their hair.

Clash should take a short holiday in Kelantan and Terengganu and see if the non-Muslims are so downtrodden and deprived as the mainstream media would like us to believe. Talk to the non-Muslims, especially the married women, and ask them whether they oppose the ban on gambling, and the control of public liquor consumption and nightclubs.

I find the reasons for not supporting PAS very frivolous, as if gambling, drinking and dressing are issues that determine the rise or fall of a government. My advice is for us to look at the bigger picture and choose our politicians objectively. One may choose Barisan Nasional if there is a good reason for doing so.

After voting for whichever party, one should not then complain about the party's handling of the meritocratic university admissions, Chinese schools, scholarships, house ownership, job opportunities, communist name-calling, tolls, burial plots, places of worship, etc.
