It comes as no surprise the findings of an independent survey with regards to the police. It is general knowledge on what can be done and in fact often asked for when you are stopped by the police for an offence.

The authorities usually deny or simply brush it off as a case of a few bad apples spoiling the whole force.

The Malaysian police force needs an upgrade and must re-look its recruitment criteria. The Malaysian population as a whole have developed and become more educated. We cannot have law keepers who have minimal education or training in the law as the people now know their rights.

In order for the rakyat to respect the police, they need to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of such honour.

They need to truly look out for the interest and well being of the rakyat.
