The denial by Selangor Menteri Besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo that corruption does not exist in the state is so typical of a politician's reply.

Instead of acknowledging the problem and studying the findings of the survey, the menteri besar chose to ignore the issue entirely.

It is disrespectful of him to treat us as fools.

Corruption is a social problem that is not easy to eradicate and we all know that even the most developed and supposedly transparent countries do have some form of corruption.

Therefore, please don't kid with us and say corruption does not exist, but do identify the root problem and minimise the opportunity for corrupt practices.
