I totally agree with the condemnation of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad by Stephen Doss, president of a pro-Barisan Nasional organisation, Persatuan Pemuda Negara Malaysia, but also a member of Gerakan in his letter PM wrong to label non-Malays 'foreigners' (May 14).

Stephen Doss should also make sure that Gerakan president Dr Lim Keng Yaik come out publicly to condemn the racism of Mahathir in unequivocal terms. As a leader of a multiethnic party in BN, the Gerakan president must not evade responsibility.

Gerakan must not only be concerned with competing with MCA for seats. It must uphold its founding and ideological principle of combating racism in all forms. Otherwise, Gerakan is useless.
