To protest against Umno's intervention in MCA, grassroots leaders and members of MCA should support Barisan Alternatif in constituencies where BA candidates contest against Umno and Gerakan.

Never mind the ethnic backgrounds of BA's candidates, MCA grassroots leaders and members should quietly vote for Keadilan and PAS so that Umno will not be strong enough after the next general election to intervene in MCA's affairs. We need checks and balances within Barisan Nasional as well as for the country as a whole.

Of course, in constituencies where MCA fights DAP, MCA leaders and members must go all out to defeat DAP and ensure MCA's victory. Only by preserving our own strength can MCA negotiate in the post-election majority bloc, whether formed by Umno or Keadilan/PAS.
