The organisers of the June 22 'Black 505' rally plan to hold two flashmobs leading up to the rally to build momentum, said Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) chief Badrul Hisham Shaharin.
The first will be held at 2pm tomorrow along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman centred around the Sogo shopping centre, while the next will be at 6pm on June 19 in Jalan Tun Perak.
The flashmobs will be capped by a final countdown at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall on Jun 21.
“On that final night, participants will be given a final briefing for the big day on June 22, the day the rakyat show their rejection of electoral fraud during the general election,” said Badrul, better known as Chegubard, at a press conference this morning.
Other than this, several major ceramah events will also be held nationwide before the ‘Black 505' rally, said Chegubard.
These will take place on June 17 (at Meru and Ipoh), June 18 (Sungai Besar, Selangor), and June 20 (Temerloh, Pahang), he added.
He also commented on the statement by Bersih co-chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan that street protests could be the most effective medium of protest for the people to carry out electoral reform.
Chegubard welcomed the statement and thanked Ambiga for her support of mass people’s movements.
“We know Datuk Ambiga’s character, she is very cautious and soft-spoken in many things. But today we thank her because she has finally realised and come to understand the will of the people,” he said.
