Reward Gerakan, punish MCA for disgrace
By contrast, Gerakan under the leadership of Dr Lim KengYaik has proven to be much cleaner, more accountable and responsible than MCA. For example, Gerakan's membership list is untainted and its integrity beyond question.
There is also no factionalism in Gerakan. Everyone works selflessly for the country, BN and party. This is so because Gerakan adopts a political culture of honesty, unity and integrity. There is no corruption in Gerakan because the party refuses to allow business lobbies to influence political decision-making.
Above all, the leadership of Keng Yaik differs vastly from MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik. He grooms only honest, accountable and responsible leaders and allow them to air their views responsibly in the party. Lim is also non-partisan in the business corporate world.
For these reasons, Gerakan can indeed represent Chinese Malaysians better than MCA. Maybe BN should consider giving more seats to Gerakan. After the next general election, BN should allocate at least one more ministerial and two deputy ministerial posts to Gerakan in the cabinet to reward for its great contribution to the stability and integrity of BN.
In Penang, more Chinese-predominated seats should be given to Gerakan because it is doubtful whether MCA is now capable of delivering Chinese votes to BN. After BN wins, it should also consider slashing the number of MCA's representation in the state government so that it learns the meaning of BN discipline and order.
