Another individual wanted by police on suspicion of insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, will surrender on Saturday upon returning from abroad.

Kuala Lumpur deputy CID chief ACP Abdul Aziz Zakaria said the suspect would give her statement to the police upon her arrival home.

The case was being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Seditions Act 1948, he told a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters today.

On June 1, the Facebook (FB) account using the name Melissa Gooi was alleged to have issued statements which insulted the speech of Tuanku Abdul Halim in conjunction with his birthday, which also received responses which insulted the Agong from her FB friends.

Following the comments in FB, police received 35 reports from numerous groups including non-government organisations, which wanted stringent actions to be taken against the owner of the FB account and her friends.
