While I can accept the no-contest arrangments for the top leadership of MCA, I think individual members of the grassroots can and should contest in party elections at both the levels of division and state.

As we have not signed any agreements with any one, we are not bound by any no-contest arrangements.

What is the use of becoming a paid member of a party that does not allow democratic contests?

Without democracy, Umno has been deserted by many. MCA should not follow this bad example.

Not to implement democracy and meritocracy within the party is certainly the right of Umno.

MCA has its own right to practice democracy and meritocracy.

Unlike Umno members who are more sheepish, MCA members should be more critical and questioning.
