I disagree with the writer of Bikini ban smacks of flesh obsession who said that "PAS must not remain obsessed with matters of the 'flesh' as it is an insult to the intellect and emotional strengths of the public".

PAS is merely putting its principle that has long been announced into practice. As a Muslim, I am offended when I see tourists and "westernised Malaysians" wearing revealing bikini and swimsuit, not only in hotel pools but also public beaches.

In Islam, you do according to what you believe in, not against it because of economical reasons. Therefore, I find it amusing to associate the bikini ban with economic and social growth.

I fully support what the Terengganu government is doing. In fact, there should be swimming pools to cater to the many of us who would like to swim but are reluctant to do so because of the "appropriate swimsuit" ruling. I find it unreasonable that we are barred from swimming in this pool just because we do not like to be half-naked.

We should be allowed to wear T-shirt and long pants in a hotel swimming pool. Wearing revealing attire was never part of our culture.
