As an ordinary citizen and taxpayer, I would like any one of our member of Parliament to demand in the next session a detailed account of all the overseas trips made by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

First, the parliamentary account must contain accurately the total numbers of trips made by PM in the last three years, destinations, nature and purposes.

Second, it must also tell us the financial expenditure of every one of the trips, and the number of people accompanying him overseas and why were they selected.

Third, a cost-and-benefit evaluation of every trip, meaning whether the results of the trips justified the public expenditure.

And the account should be certified by modern, independent and professional accounts. Only in this way could Malaysians hold the government's CEO accountable according to activity-based cost-and-benefit accounting standards.
