Hearing Bagan Datoh member of Parliament Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's speech only brings to mind memories of the recent tumultuous years in Malaysian history. One thing is particularly clear in the Barisan Nasional MPs speech — the effectiveness of the Special Branch in "turning over" a person to become a loyal BN member.

Just one month as an Internal Security Act detainee and out comes a new and reformed politician willing to do his new bosses bidding. Gone are his convictions of cronyism, nepotism and corruption in the government.

In fact, it was Zahid who brought many Malaysians to the dictionary to find out the meaning of these words. In less than five years he returns to the party, becomes a member of the supreme council and gives an honorary speech at the opening of Parliament. A very, very impressive resumpoly meaning many or a variety of, and ticks, bloodsucking arachnids that bleed their host as much as they can.

Well done to our police force for raising a true politician from the dead!
