Access to Malaysiakini 'restricted' by ISPs

your sayLittleGiant: I have been having problems accessing Malaysiakini for the past three or four days. However, today the access to the site seems quicker and easier.

All Internet service providers (ISPs) have to maintain their professional ethics and their quality of service.

Malaysiakini should go all out to thoroughly investigate the ISPs alleged to be involved in suspicious or illegal activities and depriving the freedom of Internet users. Such ISPs should be named and shamed.

KB Menon: I notice once you have accessed Malaysiakini, when you try to go back to news item or comments section, the page goes down. Hitting the browser refresh tab seems to solve the problem, but can become tedious when you have to do it often.

Anon1: It's true, when I'm on Unifi the connection is slow and often times out. I have to reload a few times before the page loads. But with Maxis Fibre and 3G, it's fast. So it's Telekom Malaysia (TM) which is throttling the speed.

Amoker: I am a user of Telekom Malaysia. I am going to call them up and lodge a complaint. No wonder caretaker PM Najib Razak said that Telekom did a good job and gave everyone RM500.

Comments in Malaysiakini take even longer to display. However, I also noticed that starting this evening, this is no longer a problem.

Finallychangeisgoingtocome: So this is the reason why I have hit refresh many times for the page to load. I use Unifi. Today so far seems okay. What ways some people will go to stop people from getting information.

Jassy: I am not surprised with these BN tactics. It is somewhat expected from people who would sell their souls to the devil to remain in power. Malaysiakini, it's time to activate your contingency plans.

Press the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys on your computers and reboot the BN government permanently. Then install an anti-BN software to ensure the virus never comes back.

Wira: When Pakatan takes over Putrajaya, please open up the ISP licences. We should be given Taiwanese rates like a 200Mb per second line at RM60 per month.

Altantuya billboard removed as 'she is not contesting'

Quigonbond: The Election Commission (EC) says Altantuya Shaariibuu was not contesting. If that's the case, the mom and pop that forms BN's montage billboards on 1Malaysia are also not contesting, yet why are the billboards not removed?

In case someone points out that those billboards carries a BN logo, so did the Altantuya billboard, which was put up by DAP - it is part of election campaign, a national issue, and an unclosed chapter of our history.

If BN can call DAP leader Lim Kit Siang a chauvinist and linking him to the May 13 riots, which is way below belt, what's wrong with a billboard that states an issue that no reasonable man will call frivolous or false?

I wonder if EC has hauled up anyone for damaging party campaign material. Shame on Kuching City Hall.

Amoker: Using the same logic, we should remove all posters with Najib's face, except in Pekan, as he is not a contestant in these areas. EC, please do it fast, we are tired of seeing his face.

Hmmmmmmmm: The very actions of the city council and EC show that they, like the rest of ther country, know that Najib is somehow linked to her murder. If DAP were to put up a billboard with a picture of a cat, I'm sure nobody will even bat an eyelid.

Swipenter: For far too long, Umno-BN has been telling us to do as they say but not do as they do.

They can pretty do as they please; incite racial and religious hate, engage in corruption, act with impunity, rule by law, etc, but try going against their word, they would slam you with all sorts of hard-to-believe charges and make your life miserable.

Lukas: Can EC explained why the hundreds of thousands of 1Malaysia flags and banners are allowed to be put up by BN next to their ‘dacing' flags/banners? 1Malaysia is a candidate, is it?
