PAHANG Three-term Bentong MP Liow Tiong Lai is off to a slow start in the defence of seat, who started his night time campaign yesterday on a modest scale.
About 150 BN supporters were in attendance during his maiden ceramah last night in Taman Desa Damai, Bentong which saw Liow giving a short 15-minute speech.
Liow mostly spoke about BN's contribution towards the country and criticised the opposition.
"They only show up during election time with their criticisms and stoking hatred towards the government to canvass for votes," said Liow.
He added that the next decade is going to be the "golden era" for Pahang, because the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park will be kicking off, which will develop the state, and thus BN should be supported.
Clip riles supporters
Most of the supporters, clad in blue garb, did not pay attention to the speech and were busy chatting.
However, when a video clip of an alleged Pakatan Rakyat supporter disrupting a MCA function in Kampung Baru Perting was screen, it grabbed the BN supporters' attention.
The clip depicted an alleged flag-wielding Pakatan Rakyat supporter on a motorcycle creating a din by revving his engine at the Kampung Baru Perting function two nights ago.
A subtitle on the clip read: "Pakatan always claim BN are hooligans. In truth, they are also hooligans".
By the end of the clip, BN supporters reacted with boos.
Liow's opponent is Wong Tack, an environmentalist standing on a DAP ticket. Liow has won with convincing majorities in the past, making him a favourite to win the seat.
