Selangor Umno 'rattled' by Kak Wan's possible arrival
Selangor Umno is rattled by the possibility of PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail contesting a state seat in Selangor in the coming election, Selangor Mentri Besar’s political secretary Faekah Husin claimed today.

In a statement, she rapped Selangor Umno deputy liaison chief Noh Omar for “contradicting himself” in two statements that he has made about Wan Azizah.
“One moment he said that Wan Azizah was rejected by her own state, then she said that Selangor PKR had to use her strengths to face the elections. Looks like he indirectly is admitting that Wan Azizah’s name is feared by Selangor Umno,” she said.
She took a swipe at Noh, claiming that he should be more concerned as to whether or not he will be fielded as a candidate.
“Even though he is the deputy liaison chief of Selangor Umno he was not appointed as deputy director for BN’s election machinery in Selangor. The role went to Mohd Zin Mohamed instead,” she said.
Mohd Zin is the Selangor BN chief and is understood to be vying for the menteri besar’s post along with Noh should BN recapture Selangor.
She also criticised Noh for saying that Wan Azizah no longer enjoys support in her own state.
“She won the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat with a 13,398 majority. It’s clear she is not rejected by her own people as Noh said in his stupid statement,” she said.
Faekah (right) also refuted allegations that PKR is a “political dynasty” for opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim’s family.
“Any Umno person should not equate the political standing of this family to the dynasty politics that exist in BN or Umno.
"This is a political cause that has forced these three individuals to come forward and lead the rakyat,” she said.
She said Umno has been making such statements even though Anwar or Wan Azizah have yet to confirm if the latter will contest in Selangor.
Wan Azizah said late last week that she is considering contesting in a state assembly seat, and that Selangor is a possible destination.
However, a state PKR source said negotiations to find her a seat have yet to begin.
