It is no point of DAP leaders wasting their time and energy with any more silly conditions from Gerakan, which forever will be happy to keep wagging its tail for Umno-BN. I don't think Penangites will tolerate it any further.

Akutuan: It takes a lot of guts to be so decisive in a short period. LGE, you have my respect. Teng, no more excuses as Padang Kota is your state constituency for three terms.

He may contest only a state seat in GE13 to lure you into his trap. After succeeding in snaring his victim, he will pay a DAP MP to vacate his safe parliamentary seat to make way for a by-election so that he can contest for a seat in the august house.

Remember what happened to DAP's Dr Chen Man Hin in Seremban, when MCA's Lee San Choon challenged him? Don't be enticed into Teng's small boys game. As already pointed out, get ready for the big one... running the country in Putrajaya.

Clever voter: For democracy to thrive, it is necessary to ensure there is check and control. LGE cannot get too carried away in his first term in office.

He needs to bear in mind of his priorities and showing off his arrogance to a weak opposition is counter productive. There will be some element of risk, when one's ego gets too big. Focus on your job, and get it done.

Ghkok: It will not be a good idea to continue with this "challenging". It's a trap. Pakatan Rakyat must avoid falling into that trap. Focus on the big picture, that is, ending 55 years of one-party rule. The federal seats are more important.

The annual federal budget is RM250 billion. This budget must be placed in the hands of reliable, responsible, honest, incorruptible and competent parties.

The annual Penang government budget is less than RM1 billion. That's why federal seats are more important. The rakyat wants to see a change in the federal government.

Lim Chong Leong: Teng should accept this new challenge as he would have "killed off" one giant parliamentarian for Pakatan. Umno will be grateful. For PM Najib Razak, it is one less chance for Putrajaya to fall.

If Teng does not accept but puts up more conditions, then he is proving himself to be chicken extraordinaire.

Me thinks Teng will chicken out. LGE will win both parliamentary and state seats and Teng will be wiped out in his safe Umno seat anyway. Checkmate II.

Kee Thuan Chye: It's not a good move for Guan Eng to give up his parliamentary seat. This could deprive Pakatan of one precious seat if his replacement gets defeated and therefore make the task of winning Putrajaya more improbable.

Guan Eng shouldn't waste his time and energy on a minnow like Teng. The larger picture is more important. Face-offs are an ego matter and an attempt at one-upmanship. There's no need for that. Concentrate instead on winning the war instead of one small battle.

Wanderer: Let us get it straight. Even though LGE gives up his parliamentary seat, another DAP will move up. It is very commendable to see LGE making such a sacrifice for his comrades.

Well done, DAP. Teng don't ever dream LGE's seat will fall to BN.

Hmmmmmmmm: I think this challenge thing is a waste of time. Pakatan should be concentrating on what is best for it, rather than falling into a trap of challenging inconsequential people and forgoing a chance for a parliamentary seat.

If anybody wants to challenge Pakatan, let him just contest in a seat where the Pakatan candidate is contesting, with no conditions imposed. This is not a game of badminton.

Surely Pakatan has a game plan and everybody must stick to it. Don't sidetrack by accepting challenges if it doesn't fit in your game plan.

Caripasal: With the man with principles like LGE, I don't see how BN can win the next election without electoral fraud.

It is indeed sad to see LGE giving up his 'sure win' parliamentary seat for someone spineless like Teng Chang Yeow. Do not expect the chicken to take up the fight.

Louis: Teng has no reason to run away now. He has already won one match even before the contest begins - that is LGE will give up his parliamentary seat. If Teng still insists on contesting in a constituency of his own choice, he must be really a coward.

Lim has already conceded much advantages to him in leaving his own constituency to contest in Padang Kota, which is Teng's former stomping ground.

In Premier League, Lim has already lost the first game even before kick-off. Then to make matters worse, he is going to play the second game away. Alex Ferguson would jump with joy if Manchester United gets such concession from its rival, Manchester City.

Changeagent: Teng Chang Yeow, let's see how you try to wiggle yourself out of this one. Let's just say you're in a very sticky situation - left with no other alternative but to tackle LGE head-on.
