A memorial service will be held for the late journalist Claudia Theophilus on March 17 in her home town of Seremban, Negri Sembilan.

A statement from her sister Dora said a mass will be conducted at the Church of the Visitation at 9.30am.

Claudia Theophilus This will be followed by lunch at the family house in 731 Jalan TBK 2/14 , Taman Bukit Kepayang.

Dora expressed appreciation to all those who had helped and supported her family following Claudia's death in Lebanon on Feb 2, and during the funeral on Feb 11.

In addition to members of the Catholic community, she named the Malaysian Embassy in Beirut and Claudia's colleagues and friends from The Sun , Malaysiakini , Al Jazeera (Kuala Lumpur and Doha) and Star.

Elected representatives Teresa Koh (Seputeh), Charles Santiago (Klang), R Sivarasa (Subang) and Cha Kee Chin (Bukit Kepayang), the Broga community, Makkal Sakti of Seremban 2 and Bukit Kepayang Wanita Umno were among the others.

Claudia had worked with The Sun and Malaysiakini before joining the Kuala Lumpur office of Al Jazeera English as a producer. She later moved to its Doha office.

She was on a short holiday in Lebanon when she was killed in a weapons handling mishap .
