Tee Keat: PM decides on candidates, not Soi Lek

Don't expect much from PM as he is not known to go against the tide, even though it is from MCA. MCA is under the full control of its president, Chua Soi Lek (CSL). No one from the party other than the members from your inner group will come to your assistance.

The politics of BN is like this - if you are not with me then you are against me. So who would dare to face the wrath of its party president?

However, there is one powerful weapon - Umno. Chua and all the rest of MCA leaders fear their Umno master. If you can rally enough support from the top Umno leaders (other than Najib) - I am very sure even the tough Chua would accede meekly.

That being said, it is still not a guarantee that you can win in the election as your opponent is the very capable and intelligent Rafizi Ramli from PKR.

It's confirmed that MCA is 100 percent controlled by Umno. As such, MCA is useless to the Chinese. A vote for MCA is a vote for Umno.

ONG: Ong may be correct in claiming that ultimately his candidacy depends on Najib and not on Chua.

However, if he as a MCA leader needs to depend on the Umno president to be picked as the BN candidate, wouldn't that make him a Umno honorary member instead of an honourable MCA member?

Green Mutant: OTK, serves you right. The last time you won the MCA presidency, you also sidelined many people and condoned dirty tactics. You thought you could walk on water. It is too late now. You burnt all the bridges, didn't you? I'm not sure if you deserve a second chance.

Cala: In Ong Tee Keat's mind, the ideal leader is one who decides everything from A to Z. The job left to the followers is to follow faithfully. Is he correct?

True to this warped management principle, Chua was sidelined, cold storaged, and belittled in the party affairs even as MCA's deputy president. The consequence of his idiotic act (or oxy-moronic act) caused him the downfall.

And true to Ong, he is so stubborn that he is in effect incapable of learning from his mistake. Ong speaks, write, and read three languages.

By Lee Kuan Yew's yardstick, he could easily pass an IQ test of 125. But alas, his EQ is not much higher than a seven-year-old boy.

Maplesyrup: We can write OTK off. Even at this stage, he is sticking with BN. He says that the candidate is decided by PM. Where is the dignity of MCA, if according to OTK, even Chua's candidacy needs PM's approval?

I would imagine, for MCA's dignity, the approval should be procedural and be given as a matter of fact. If Najib veto CSL, it is a goner for both MCA and OTK.

Heavywater: Ong, sad to say, you must face the truth. Najib wants you out at all cost because of the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal, which hurt them a lot.

Second, Najib is a man without balls who only knows what he wants and not what he needs. Thirdly, by being an independent you will lose, which would also cause MCA to lose.

The best choice is for you to resign from MCA and join PKR or DAP, if you sincerely want to help the people.

Starr: OTK should not waste his time in fighting to remain in MCA and BN for they are an unworthy party and alliance.

If OTK was removed because their stance against corruption in PKFZ project, there is absolutely nothing left for him to remain with MCA as his integrity and principles were clearly not being appreciated by the party and the alliance.

For the lack of integrity as a party, MCA will be resoundingly rejected by the Chinese community and ultimately meet its untimely demise after this election.

Mahashitla: OTK, everyone knows you were ousted as MCA president due to your anti-graft stance and the initiation of the PKFZ probe.

You were even rebuked by Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, then education minister, for trying to be the hero of the Chinese when in 2006 you exposed a RM3,000 school renovation contract, in which the company was paid RM30,000.

It was very obvious Umno did not like you and had a hand in your ouster. Umno would rather have Chua rather than one who wanted to fight graft like you.

There's no place for you in MCA and Pandan folks wouldn't want to vote for a lame duck MP any more. If you really want to serve the rakyat and to fight graft, join Pakatan Rakyat.

Flyingeagle: The MCA president has the power to put in his son as a deputy minister and took you out and then promote one who took over your ministry. Can Najib protest against this?

If you want to stay put in MCA waiting for a chance to contest the president's post, then it is better not to stand for the coming GE. Get elected, reorganise the party and then join Pakatan for the betterment of the party and the country's future.

Ksn: Tee Keat, you may be right about that choice is the PM's. But then, will the PM go against the party decision, however stupid, and field you as an MCA candidate?

The fact that you are not nominated by MCA means that MCA does not support you, or at least, the president has no confidence in you. But then, we all know the reason for that, don't we?

Having said that, why do you want to make yourself cheap begging to Umno? Why not stand as an independent if you have problems joining the opposition, if you are confident of winning.

Has not MCA named a candidate for your constituency? Better still, retire honourably rom politics.

Kheng: My vote is for Rafizi if he stands in Pandan.
