Boo won't face party disciplinary action, says DAP

Johor DAP chief Dr Boo Cheng Hau will not be facing any disciplinary action from the party despite his recent verbal spat with Johor PKR chief Chua Jui Meng, said the DAP deputy chairperson, Tan Kok Wai.

Tan (left) noted that Boo was just expressing “his personal feelings” in the issue, and that it has nothing to do with party discipline.

“There’s no need (for Boo to face the party’s disciplinary committee). It’s an expression of his feelings, this is not a disciplinary matter,” said Tan in a press conference today.

The DAP election committee chairperson said that the issue will turn out to be a “happy ending” and asks for all parties not to worry about it.

“We are back on the right track now, we are in top gear (for the general election) now, there’s no problem,” he added.

On Feb 18, Boo had lashed out at Chua over seat negotiations, resulting in the duo publicly calling each other "overlords".

Following this, DAP chairperson Karpal Singh and PKR chairperson Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail got into the mix, defending their respective comrades.

However, Boo had last night agreed to stop his verbal spat with Chua, saying that Johor DAP wanted to put the matter behind them, while expressing their full support and "selfless devotion" to Pakatan Rakyat partners, PKR and PAS.

This followed the visit by DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang to Johor to mediate the issue.

Meanwhile, DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua (right) - who also attended the press conference - has recently launched the party’s online fundraising campaign.

The Petaling Jaya Utara MP urged the public to make donations to the party via online banking, as the proceeds will be used as funds for DAP to wage their publicity war against BN.

He added that the party will be disseminating this campaign via social media.
