Johor PKR chief Chua Jui Meng has shot back at his counterpart, state DAP chief Boo Cheng Hau, for calling him an overlord, saying that the label was more suitable for the latter.

“Boo is (the one) becoming an overlord (by dictating on) PKR’s national level (decisions), how can he demand PKR to contest any seat?”    

“As for who is the overlord now, you can check with him,” Chua told Malaysiakini when contacted.

Chua was responding to Boo's accusation of the former being an overlord, and urging PKR's top leadership to replace him.

NONEBoo had today openly urged PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim or PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to take over the Johor leadership from Chua.

The state opposition leader said that he could no longer work with Chua, whose “arrogance” has damaged the strong collaboration built between the Johor DAP and PKR before Chua took over the helm in 2010.

However, Chua insists that he can cooperate with anyone in the Pakatan Rakyat, including Boo.

“It may be bad luck for him (Boo) to work with me, but I am prepared to cooperate with any party.”

The PKR vice-president also urged Boo to respect the national leadership in terms of seat allocation.    

The duo had constantly been at odds over seat allocations in the state, particularly in the parliamentary constituency of Gelang Patah and Bakri.

Bakri was formerly held by Chua for five consecutive terms when he was in MCA, but he did not contest the seat in the last general election.

In the election, the traditionally MCA seat fell to DAP's Er Teck Hwa.
