Hishammuddin 'must apologise' for ROS blunder

In a statement today, Lim claimed that Hishammuddin's allegation about the DAP was intended to ensure victory for BN by disqualifying the DAP from contesting the next general election.
“Even though registrar Abdul Rahman has apologised, this is not acceptable - it is Hishammuddin who should apologise as (he) had threatened the DAP,” said Lim.
Hishammuddin had said last Saturday that the ROS could begin investigating the DAP, since the party had failed to submit its report within the Feb 15 deadline.
Yesterday, the DAP had accused Hishammuddin of lying because the report has been submitted ahead of the deadline.
Abdul Rahman later apologised, conceding that he had made a mistake based on “information that was not updated”.
‘Why fear scrutiny?’
On the deportation of Australian MP Nick Xenophon last Saturday, Lim said the “disgraceful and unacceptable act” has proven that the BN will abuse the government machinery to win the next general election by hook or by crook.
“Simply put, if there is nothing to hide, then why is there a fear of open scrutiny? The only reason why the government would be afraid to allow international observers and open scrutiny during the next general election is because it intends to cheat,” Lim claimed.
“To make matters worse, it would appear that the Election Commission has openly endorsed the detention and deportation of Xenophon (right), when its deputy chairperson Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said it would be unjust to use Xenophon's expulsion to judge the fairness of the 13th general election.”
Involving both the Immigration Department and the ROS in Hishammuddin’s “games of political victimisation”, added Lim, is the clearest proof yet that the next polls will be the dirtiest in history.
