Selangor to dissolve state assembly after CNY
Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the state government has proposed to dissolve the state assembly after Chap Goh Meh, next month.
Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the state government has proposed to dissolve the state assembly after Chap Goh Meh, next month.
He said the decision, however, depends on the highest leaders in Pakatan Rakyat.
"If the prime minister (Najib Abdul Razak) does not make any announcement or indicate a date for the general election after Chap Goh Meh, we plan to do this (dissolve the state assembly)," he said at a press conference after chairing the weekly exco meeting, in Shah Alam today.
"We feel that the people who have chosen us are ready and they should not have to wait longer than necessary," he added.
Commenting on the water issue, Abdul Khalid said the state government had written to the Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister, stating that it would take over water services from the Selangor concessionaire company.
"We've given the ministry 14 days from next Monday to respond on the matter and if they don't, the takeover process will be carried out," he said.
