The Malaysian women's hope to have brighter future lies only in BN’s government, Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said.
She said this was because the BN government had always taken into consideration the welfare of the people, especially women at all levels.
In addition, the government had constantly listened to the voice and aspirations of women, not only through political channels, but also through Women and Family Development Council (MPWK), she said at the launch Perlis MPWK community event in Kangar today.
Shahrizat, who is also National Chairperson of MPWK, said the council had been championing the interests of women in the country.
"That is why the government has also prepared various facilities for women and continued trying to bring them out of poverty through the 1Azam programme," she said.
Meanwhile, Perlis Menteri Besar Md Isa Sabu, when opening the event, expressed hope that the women would become the catalyst and morale booster for the community to support the government.
He said the women in the country had enjoyed a comfortable life and those who still trapped in poverty had never been left out from the government's effort to improve their living standards.
