Karpal urges Kedah not to 'rock Pakatan boat'

DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh said today that he hoped the PAS-led Kedah government will not 'rock the boat' by trying to dictate dress code rulings as the 13th general election was just around the corner.
He says Kedah government's decision to impose dress code rulings on Chinese New Year performers had gone beyond the norms.

He said Kedah government's decision to impose dress code rulings on Chinese New Year performers had gone beyond the norms.
"Dress code is something personal, something which requires self-regulation.
"It is not something which can be dictated and prevailed upon in the country," he told reporters in Georgetown today.
The Kedah government after coming under flak over the matter rescinded the ruling on Jan 15 allowing male and female performers to perform as long as they dressed properly, among the conditions armpits, chests and thighs must be covered.
On another matter, Karpal Singh urged PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to get PAS's Syura Council to review its decree that the word ‘Allah’ cannot be used in the Malay version of the Bible as the Pakatan opposition coalition made up of PAS, DAP and PKR had already agreed that ‘Allah’ can be used.
