Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor today reminded those eyeing to be BN candidates in the upcoming 13th general election not to resort to lobbying to be chosen.

He said shortlisted candidates were those wanted by the people and had gone through a stringent vetting process.

“I advise those aspiring to be candidates, no need to hang around near or try to meet component party leaders or myself in trying to get selected.

"This is not necessary as the names will be submitted to the BN headquarters via the appropriate channels.

“Do not resort to unsavoury tactics because we have own criteria in determining candidates," he told reporters after attending a ceremony to hand over the RM100 Early Schooling Aid for schools in the Putrajaya parliamentary constituency at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 9 (2), Putrajaya today.

Tengku Adnan, who is also Putrajaya MP, was commenting on last-minute lobbying by those wanting to be picked as candidates in the GE.
