DAP Perak chairperson Ngeh Koo Ham has been asked to lodge a police report on the accident involving 10 vehicles including one belonging to the Road Transport Department (RTD) in Seri Manjung, Sitiawan last Friday.

Perak police chief Mohd Shukri Dahalan said the report would assist them in carrying out a more thorough investigation.

“We also need to obtain information from independent witnesses of the accident,” he told reporters after presenting 2011 Excellent Service Awards for the Ipoh and Batu Gajah districts in Ipoh today.

He said two statements had been recorded so far and appealed to others who had witnessed the incident.

In the incident, a Seri Manjung RTD four-wheel-drive vehicle was overturned and set on fire by members of the public at Km 12, Jalan Sitiawan-Ipoh traffic lights, near SM Methodist, Ayer Tawar.

In another development, Shukri said the VCD allegedly containing a pornographic recording of Perak state assembly speaker R Ganesan and a woman was just audio without visual.

He said the investigation was still on-going and the disc had been sent to the Forensic Unit in Kuala Lumpur.
