Deputy Education Minister Mohd Puad Zakarshi today warned school teachers and students against participating in the gathering organised by the opposition in the federal capital tomorrow.
He said the warning was issued because the ministry did not want them to show a bad example to others.
"Teachers are well aware of the regulations and ethics outlined by the ministry which they have to comply with. So, the advice is for them to not take the risk.
"Apart from that, the ministry also does not want the teaching profession to be tarnished when they participate in a gathering that might turn unruly," he told reporters at a function hein Batu Pahat today.
He said as school teachers and students, they should not get involve in such a gathering which was politically motivated.
The ministry, he said, would not hesitate to take action against school teachers and students who were caught by police participating in the gathering.
He also advised parents to not bring along their schooling children to participate in the gathering.
