Fifty members of various pressure groups yesterday rallied at Penang International Airport and urged Lim Guan Eng to retract his statement on the use of the word 'Allah' in the Malay version of the Bible.

However, the chief minister, who arrived from Hong Kong at 7pm, allegedly avoided meeting the group by sneaking out via the back door of the arrival hall.

The groups include Perkasa, Penang Muslim Network (JMPP), Penang Facebook Association, Penang Born Muslims Association, Jelutong Residents Association  and several PAS members.

JMPP supreme committee member Azmi Jaafar regretted not meeting Lim despite waiting for his arrival since 6pm.

He described the DAP secretary-general as a coward for being not willing to face the wrath of Muslims in Penang.
