The Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecast that several states will experience thunderstorms in the afternoon on Deepavali day next Tuesday.

The thunderstorms are expected to hit areas in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor, Malacca, Johor, Pahang, Sarawak, Sabah and Negri Sembilan.

The statement also said Kelantan and Terengganu are expected to receive rainfall in the afternoon.

Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Federal Territory of Labuan are expected to see sunny weather in the afternoon.

However, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Perak are expected to see rain in the morning while the other states are expected to be sunny.
