PAS central committee member Dzulkefly Ahmad's attempt to meet the Selangor sultan to explain PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar's controversial statement on choice of faith for Malays was ridiculed by his former comrade Hasan Ali.

"I am fascinated with the statements made by the 'parasitic leader' of PAS Dzulkefly and (Shah Alam MP) Khalid Samad defending and supporting Nurul's view, the Gombak Setia state assemblyperson slammed Dzulkefly in a statement issued yesterday.

NONE They claim that those who express disapproval of her statement do not understand the real meaning and are not following the detailed updates provided at different locations,' added Hasan (right), who is now heading NGO Jalur Tiga (Jati).

"It is hilarious to me that Dzulkefly claimed that he is well acquainted with the sultan. Since when was he well acquainted with the sultan?" he added.

'No substance to claim'

He then referred to his time as a Selangor Islamic Religious Council member and a former Selangor state exco in charge of Islamic portfolio during which time, he claimed, he had never seen Dzulkefly at any function involving the sultan especially, those in relation to Islam and Malay customs.

Hasan accused Dzulkefly of having yet again elevated himself to such high extent that he thinks that the sultan can be "fooled".

"For those who know Dzulkefly, you can feel the obvious difference between Dzulkefly as an intellectual and Islam activist and a politician who works with (PKR de facto leader) Anwar Ibrahim and the DAP, he said.

He then mocked NONE Dzulkefly ( left) as being Anwar's echo.

"That is why when Anwar's daughter made a 'carbon copy' statement of her dad, one of the PAS leaders who sprang to her Nurul's defence was Dzulkefly to the point of demeaning the status of the palace and sultan to justify her statement," he added.
