Abdul Rahman, if we got it right from what you say, transferring funds from the states' trust accounts into their consolidated account is a capital transfer. It cannot pass off the money as revenue (a profit and loss item).

Ask any bookkeeper, he/she can explain that capital (an asset), and revenue cannot be taken as one same category. For an asset to become revenue, you have to sell (or dispose of) it and with that, the proceeds can be classify as revenue.

However in your case, you are talking of transferring of funds (money) and you cannot sell money to make it revenue - unless it is the disposal of shares or bonds.

Jiminy Qrikert: So Pakatan is just transferring money from right pocket to left pocket and vice versa. The question is who owns the pockets, regardless of whether it is the left or right pocket?

As far as the rakyat knows, under Pakatan both pockets belong to the rakyat. And also as far as the rakyat knows, pretty much for sure, BN has been doing this left pocket-right pocket thingy for the past 55 years.

Only thing is, the left pocket belongs to Muhammad and the right pocket belongs to Khir while Abdullah oversees the transfer with the help of Tajudin and they then proceed to transfer the entire sum into their personal private vaults in Switzerland.

But in recent years, they have become much more bolder and are now spiriting the money to condos closer to home assisted by herds of cows. It's much easier than carrying briefcases stuffed with cash into Australia on diplomatic exemption and illiteracy in English.

Lamborghini: Abdul Rahman, you hail from Sabah - the poorest state with the highest unemployment and terrible roads and poor infrastructure and you dare claim Sabah is performing well financially?

And it seems to me you are the one who is practicing creative accounting here by comparing a failed RM1 million project with a clear-cut case of abuse and mismanagement of RM250 million in the case of National Feedlot Corporation (NFC).

Why don't you compare NFC with billions of ringgit of losses in the Port Klang Free Zone (PFKZ) and Perwaja Steel, Bumiputra Malaysia Finance (BMF), etc - all under BN?

The way you and other BN politicians are excusing and justifying all the huge losses by the myriads of government agencies and GLCs (government-linked companies) and the irresponsible spending of the rakyat's money through blatant vote-buying - the BR1M handouts - is turning once prosperous Malaysia into a ‘bankrupt nation' (BN).

Headhunter: Creative accounting is done by all companies anywhere in the world. It's an acceptable practice as long as it is within the confine of the law.

What Pakatan Rakyat does is to take money from the right pocket and put it into the left. The amount is still the same.

In the case of BN, they take the rakyat money and put it into their own pocket. And that's call stealing.

Kosongcafe: Who is being creative? Why didn't the auditor-general point that out?

Anyway, with BN's record of creative spending, I don't think there is any creative accounting which could hide its wastage and leakages, except by fooling the public using the MSM (mainstream media) under its control.

SMC77: Abdul Rahman, you are one of the few Umno MPs who tried very hard to argue the case in an intellectual way. Unfortunately, your analysis is fundamentally flaw and your intention to mislead people is well-exposed here.

Sabah and Sarawak have billions in consolidated state fund primarily because of the contribution from its natural resources (oil, gas and logging).

How would you expect Selangor (an industrial state) and Penang (the Silicon Valley of Malaysia) be able to have so much fund in their coffers given their limited natural resources?

Changeagent: The term creative accounting has negative connotations and implies that fraudulent activities had taken place.

Unless Abdul Rahman has any convincing proof of misappropriation by the Pakatan-led states like the irrefutable NFC or prawn farm scandals, he is better advised to keep his own foot away from his mouth.

Bender: I applaud the Pakatan state governments for having the ability to outsmart the AG team of auditors. Why can't BN do the same?

This only proves that the Pakatan government should be taking over Putrajaya because they are obviously smarter than the BN government.

Unlike BN, which commit such treacherous crimes but have no clue on how to do them discreetly, the Pakatan governments know how to be discreet even though they haven't done anything wrong. Go figure.

Odin: Abdul Rahman, I am not doubting you, but I'd like to know how is it that you have managed to discover this, when the auditor-general and his team of professional auditors have been unable to.

By the way, the list of highly irregular expenses incurred by the government, the vast amounts involved, and the all-too-clear indications of corruption reported in the latest Auditor-General's Report is longer than your proverbial arm. Any comment?

Starr: If there has been cases of creative accounting in states finances, how come the Auditor General's Report didn't mention it? Is it possible that the auditor-general is siding with Pakatan?

Mk: BN is really running scared. If the Pakatan states can manage their finances so well, just imagine what a great job Pakatan can do in Putrajaya.

Most people with access to online media know this. Surely if the rest of rakyat figure this out, it's kaput for BN. That's why all this spinning. It ain't working though. Do not underestimate the rakyat. We are smarter than you think.

Has the auditor-general take into consideration in Sabah's state account the RM40 million that was donated to Sabah Umno?
