MCA president Chua Soi Lek today said whatever weaknesses exposed in the Auditor-General’s Report 2011 would not cause the BN government to lose the rakyat’s support.

 

NONE This was because, said Chua ( left in photo ), the rakyat understood that government bodies were not perfect, as no private companies in the country were perfect as well.

 

He said, if the rakyat would stop supporting BN due to the revelations in the Auditor-General’s Report alone, then the BN government would have collapsed some 50 years ago.

“The AG’s Report is released every year, and exposes the (institutions’) weakness and mistakes, then the government would fall on a yearly basis,” he said in a press conference after chairing the MCA’s presidential council meeting.

He said the rakyat would not stop supporting BN just because of the report alone, but would see things in a more holistic manner.

Chua added that the rakyat would only assess the BN government from all aspects, not just a single issue.

 

He said the rakyat would look at how the country develops and is administered, as well as the harmony between the various religions and races.

 

Chua further argued that if a single issue were to have a decisive effect, then Pakatan-ruled Kelantan and Kedah might fall in the next election as they were poorly managed.

 

However, Chua said DAP certainly would pick up on the mismanagement raised in the AG’s Report in an attempt to cause dissatisfaction among the rakyat.
