Little Hantu: With regards to the Tabung Haji CEO's high pay, perhaps they should check on Ismee Ismail's performance records, especially on the investment in Silver Bird Group Berhad, which saw their RM90 million investment slashed to RM10 million.

Migrants and church may end BN vote bank in Borneo

Kim Quek : The steep plunge in Muslim bumiputera support for BN, read together with the spate of defections of Sabah Umno leaders, seem to suggest that the hitherto near monolithic Sabah Muslim support for BN is broken along the line separating original Sabahans and immigrants.

While most original Sabahan Muslims have ceased to support BN, most of the immigrant Muslims who form the bulk of ‘phantom votes' under Project Mahathir remain loyal out of gratitude and hope that their offspring will be similarly granted citizenship by Umno.

Considering the fact that the Chinese have overwhelmingly rejected BN and the non-Muslim bumiputera have also turned their backs to BN in flocks, as revealed in the recent Merdeka Center survey, Sabah BN is expected to sail into turbulent waters, and a severe thrashing in the coming polls cannot be excluded.

Swipenter: Sarawak and Sabah must be the most productive people in the world, especially the Malays in Sabah. Experts in the fields of fertility and population growth must come to Sabah to study the secret of this phenomenon to see whether such a high population growth is natural or artificial.

Experts in economics and social sciences can also study why in such richly endowed lands, its peoples can be so poor and lacking behind in development.

One reason given by an ex-prime minister is that these two states must wait for their turn for development to come, and the high population growth was because historically these two states had (still have?) very loose national boundaries with neighbouring countries, and people can choose to stay in whichever country they please, sort of like having dual/multiple citizenship.

Slumdog Just look at the standard of housing in some parts of Kota Kinabalu, and no doubt Sarawak as well, after nearly 50 years of Umno-BN rule since 1963.

These states have been raped financially by the Umno-BN government. And former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad has asked the people of Sabah and Sarawak to wait because the government needs more time to develop the state.

All I can say to East Malaysians is, please vote for Umno-BN again at GE13 if you wish your states to be continually plundered, to continue to live in abject poverty and squalor, to have no access to the basic necessities of life such as clean water, electricity and decent infrastructure.

Why the double standards when there are also many spouses of Malaysians who have been here for more than three decades and are still not granted citizenship?
