Penang PKR vice-chief Abdul Halim Hussein said the party was looking into the leaked PKR meeting that revealed Deputy Chief Minister I Mansor Othman allegedly calling Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng “arrogant”, and advised all quarters especially journalists to wait for an official report on the matter.

penang assembly roof collapse 010510 speaker abdul halim Abdul Halim ( right ), who is state legislative assembly speaker, said action would soon be taken on those responsible for the leaked audio recording in which Mansor uttered those words, and which was later broadcast in a TV3 report.

He termed the issue as serious but denied that there was any conflict among Pakatan Rayat leaders in Penang.

“The election is near and these things happen, but the relationship between Pakatan and PKR leaders remains intact,” said Abdul Halim.

“In this age of technology, it is dangerous even speaking to your wife, for it can be recorded and leaked. This is how low people can go,” he said.

Abdul Halim also said PKR has a strong leadership in Mansor in Penang, putting aside any rift due to betrayal among the members who attended the leaked meeting in March, which among others discussed the seat allocation for the coming election.

A verbatim report was featured on an obscure blog in June, in which Mansor described Lim as “cocky, arrogant and a tokong (a deity)”.

Mansor did not outright deny saying these words, merely adding that it was blown out of proportion.
