Najib's goose is coming home to roost
VOXPOP 'Why must a PM be immune to the full persecution of the law in the case of the Scorpene submarines when he is the alleged wrongful doer?'
Scorpene probe: France about to summon witnesses
Meranti Kepong:
It would be definitely a miscarriage of justice if PM Najib Razak is not summoned to France whether he is in power or not. Why the difference in treatment?
He is the chief procurer of the two Scorpene submarines then. The French court should subpoena him as well as current Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, otherwise it will be regarded as double standard.
Anybody who have allegedly committed a crime as serious as the Scorpene scandal and for causing the death of an innocent woman should pay the price, regardless whether he is a politician or a gangster. Justice must be applied equally across the board, no exception.
Boiling Mud: As Suaram secretariat member Cynthia Gabriel says it so clearly - Najib's name will be moved up the list of witnesses "very quickly" if he is no longer the prime minister after the next general election.
So come GE13, there is another point for voters to consider when they go to the ballot box. The French may want to defer to diplomatic ties, but Malaysians can use that little piece of paper to decide Najib's fate.
Anonymous #36465711: I believe if Suaram is officially charged, there will be another huge rally similar to Bersih 3.0. This is the least the government want to see before the next election.
Rubystar_4037: It seems that soon Najib's goose is coming home to roost. Why must a PM be immune to the full prosecution of the law when he is the alleged wrongdoer?
The DPM and the former PM's son are only too happy to push PM over the edge. What a shame for Malaysia when the PM is tainted like this.
And his wife still goes haughtily around with her fancy bags and big diamonds. Malaysia is dog gone.
Dr Jag#04496187: Nobody is above the law. The French know better than to defer to diplomatic ties vis-a-vis the rule of law.
The royal prerogative days are gone like the head of Charles I. Najib can and must be subpoenaed as any ordinary person unless he claims to be an outlaw, meaning he is outside the ambit and reach of the law because of his "premiership."
If he insists, then he is indeed an outlaw. Outlaws can be chased, tarred, feathered, and hanged by an angry mob.
'1M'sia email' Tricubes to be delisted
Mosquito: The regulators should not have allowed the listing of Tricubes in the first place.
This is exactly the type of fiasco that will discourage foreign investors from coming to our shores. Shades of Paul Newman and Robert Redford in the movie ‘Sting'.
Yap Cs: How many of such failures can taxpayers support? The country goes into debt to pay these cronies for dubious projects, which are no more than con jobs.
Tailek: BN should answer for yet another fiasco. The only inevitable conclusion is that BN and its business cronies are all just totally screwed up and only purpose is to fleece the public funds.
Tidakboleh: More millions of ringgit wasted on regime-linked companies, nothwithstanding the public outcry against the award of the email contract to the financially troubled firm. The regime should be held accountable for yet another failure.
Anonymous_3e86: Those who were greedy enough to think that they could make a fast buck from this company's shares has now got their hands burnt.
Meanwhile, those who came up with the email scheme has sold all their shares to the greedy ones who are left with a worthless piece of paper.
And who proposed this email scheme? BN, of course.
Mahathir to testify next month in Ling cheating trial
Pemerhati: Prosecutor Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah and the defence counsel Wong Kian Keong, who were involved in carrying out the farcical Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial are again involved in Ling's corruption trial.
During the Altantuya trial, which was a ‘sandiwara', Majid and Wong were seen to be openly collaborating to protect the masterminds of Altantuya's murder.
It would be interesting to see what sort of script they have cooked up with Mahathir to try and fool the Malaysian public into thinking that the whole trial is not being stage managed by Najib and Umno.
Trying To Be Smart: Just my curiosity, Ling is being charged with cheating the cabinet (the government?) headed at the material time by Mahathir. Why was Mahathir not called as a prosecution witness in the first place?
Odin: Mahathir's replies will be limited to two sentences - "I cannot remember" and "I don't know".
