The National Feedlot Corporation Sdn Bhd (NFC) says the Banking and Financial Institutions Act 1984 (Bafia) charge faced by PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli is strong and should not be dropped.

nfc office front NFC said in a statement the loan documents Rafizi revealed during a press conference on March 7, which he claimed were for the purchase of KL Eco City office lots, were the balance summaries of deposit accounts, loan accounts and the personal accounts of the NFC chairperson.

“The NFC deposit account is free from any encumbrances and is not at risk in any way as it is not connected to the personal loans taken in 2005 and 2008,” the statement says.

The statement came in response to Rafizi's application to drop the Bafia charge that he and former bank clerk Johari Mohamad face.

NONE “It is NFC's stand that there is no abuse of public funds in this case. Rafizi ( right ) has always been on an unwarranted attack on NFC, a company only in its second year of operations in a 30-year contract with the government.

“We believe the Bafia charges against Rafizi are best adjudicated by the court given the clearly defined laws of Bafia to protect the public, investors and Malaysia’s banking and financial system,” the statement adds.
