A member of PKR’s entourage has successfully identified one of the perpetrators behind last Saturday’s attack on the PKR campaign bus in Malacca.

According to Suara Keadilan , the witness, PKR Wanita secretary Maisuri Hamzah, who was travelling on the bus during the attack, had gone through 11 suspects in a police identification parade this afternoon.

“I can confirm one of the youths is named Sharidan - who was wearing a red cap during the incident - I informed the police that I have his pictures,” she was quoted as saying.

The police subsequently recorded her statement on the matter after the identification parade.

Also present for the identification parade was PKR worker Abdul Hadi Suhaimi.

Suara Keadilan journalist Aedil Asri and photographer Yuisriah Yusof, who were travelling with the entourage, also presented themselves at the Jasin police district headquarters but were not required to participate in the identification parade.

According to the party organ, PKR organising secretary Radin Shamsulakmar Radin Shamsudin said police had yesterday requested members of the entourage to present themselves for the identification process at 1.30pm today.

According to a Suara Keadilan report, PKR organising secretary Radin Shamsulakmar Radin Shamsudin said police made the request to the bus entourage around 1.30pm yesterday.

"The identification parade will be held at 3pm at the Jasin district police headquarters," Radin Shamsulakmar was quoted as saying.

The incident led to a tense situation where PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim's bodyguard allegedly pointed his gun at the hecklers.

Police then moved in, disarmed the bodyguard and arrested him.

Exactly a week before the incident, PKR's bus was also splashed by red paint and its windscreen smashed   ( picture above ) while on the campaign trail in Kota Baru, Kelantan.
