Sabah Umno deputy chief Salleh Said Keruak today challenged Sepanggar Umno to go all-out to regain the parliamentary seat for the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general election and to ensure that the two state seats, Karambunai and Inanam, remain with the coalition.         

“In fact, do whatever it takes within the legal framework and make it the battle cry to wrest Sepanggar from the opposition,” he said when opening the division’s delegates meeting, here.     

Sepanggar is held by the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), which won the seat in the 2008 general election on a BN ticket. The party pulled out of the coalition shortly after and the MP, Eric Majimbun, is now an opposition elected representative.       

Karambunai and Inanam remain BN strongholds, with Jainab Ahmad of Umno and Johnny Goh of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) as the elected representatives.       

Salleh said it would not be a difficult task to take Sepanggar if Umno members gave their undivided support to the BN candidate in the next general election.
