The disbursement of 'wang ihsan' (compassionate money) for Kelantan students accepted to public institutions of higher learning (IPTA) for the 2012/2013 academic session is delayed due to technical problems.
Deputy Finance Minister Awang Adek Hussin said the payment would be made soon and advised the eligible students to submit their application.
The forms could be filled online at the Kelantan Federal Development Department website or obtained from the development supervisors in their respective mukim, he told reporters in Kota Baru today.
He said this in response to complaints from parents that their children were not given the aid despite being offered places at the IPTA.
"The government still provides the aid, only that the payment is delayed due to technical problems," he added.
Under this programme, those pursuing degree studies will receive RM800 each, RM500 for diploma students and RM300 for matriculation students.
