Kedah Umno liaison committee chairperson Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said today he would adhere to the party leadership's decision should he be dropped as a candidate for the next general election.      

He said he would not feel aggrieved if he was not selected as a candidate after having served four terms as the state assemblyman for Bakar Bata.      

"This is my sincere statement. It is more important not to betray the party and the top leadership," he told reporters after opening the Padang Serai Umno Division delegates meeting at the main hall of Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) near Padang Serai yesterday.
