The Court of Appeal has fixed Nov 23 for further case management on the prosecution's appeal in the Anwar Ibrahim Sodomy II verdict.

This was decided during the case management in the verdict appeal held before the court registrar today and attended by counsel for the prosecution and defence.

"Both parties need more time to check on the notes of the proceedings," DPP Noorin Badaruddin said.

Defence lawyer Ramkarpal said further case management was fixed as some of the records were not in order.

Anwar was acquitted of sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan at the Desa Damansara condominium between 2.30pm and 4pm on June 26, 2008. The High Court in Kuala Lumpur made the ruling on Jan 9.

Trial judge Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah found it unsafe to convict Anwar following questions brought on the integrity of the sample retrieved from Saiful.

The prosecution filed an appeal against Anwar's acquittal on Jan 20.

The trial received worldwide attention and a book has also been written on it, by Lawasia and Inter-Parliamentary Union observer Mark Trowell, which is titled The Trial of Anwar Ibrahim Sodomy II.
