Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria and the former muftis of Kedah and Perlis, Syeikh Hassbullah Abd Halim and Mat Jahya Hussin, respectively, have been appointed adjunct professors at

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

UUM Islamic Centre director Associate Professor  Dr Ismail Ishak said they were appointed based on their expertise and were known at international level.

“They will act as advisers and consultants in matters concerning Islamic affairs at the university, and also in the planning and managing of matters pertaining to the Islamic Centre,” he said at a breaking of fast organised by the university in Sintok yesterday.

He said their appointments were approved by the university senate and they had received the instruments of appointment.
