This despite both DAP and Talam explaining the complexities of the debt recovery exercise, with a DAP parliamentarian calling the sensational expose a “mega blunder”.

, saying he welcomed the legal action and that he hoped Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim would not use the legal action to suppress MCA from speaking up.
“He (Khalid) has the right to sue, but let's hope that the suing is not like a gag order against the MCA to cover the facts and divert attention.
“We raised this because we want the state government to enlighten the rakyat as it involves public funds,” he was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Kuala Selangor PAS parliamentarian Dzulkefly Ahmad in a Harakahdaily report mused if employing the inexperienced MCA deputy minister Chua Tee Yong to speak about the complicated subject may be an internal political conspiracy within BN.
He said it is baffling that the allegations this time were spearheaded by a “no-weight in the corporate world” from MCA rather than Umno.
"By the very lack of finesse and mastery of the subject already showing in his first few controversial statements, revealing his total lack of understanding of the subject matter, Tee Yong, (left ) has in fact placed himself on the guillotine's block.
"Is it an intra-MCA thing to finish him off?" asked Dzulkefly.
Mega-blunder revisited
Tee Yong, who is also Soi Lek’s son, had first told The Star earlier that he would expose a RM1 billion scandal involving the Selangor Pakatan government.
He then proceeded to accuse Selangor government of forking out more than RM260 million to “rescue” the ailing construction firm Talam through complicated accounting.
Tee Yong defended his billion ringgit claim vaguely on the total amount involved in the entire “
questionable deal
”.
He also called the attempt by the state to recover outstanding debt from Talam left unclaimed by the previous BN state government, a “bailout”.
Yesterday, Talam offered to educate Tee Yong on the mechanics of its debt settlement with the Selangor government, following what it said was “his current erroneous perception of facts”.
DAP publicity chief Tony Pua, too, accused Tee Yong for engaging in "elementary double-counting" to back his " mega blunder ", as Talam would not receive a single sen from what is essentially Selangor’s move to recoup outstanding sums from the company.
