The Petaling Jaya Local Plan 2 (PJLP2) gazetted on Jan 13, 2011 by the Selangor State Town Planning Department (JPBD) should be revoked as it does not conform to to the law, said Selangor’s select committee on competency, accountability and transparency (Selcat) chairperson Teng Chang Khim.

He said: “The state can revoke (PJLP2) under the advice of the state legal adviser.”

azlan He was speaking to reporters after concluding a public hearing involving a proposal to develop a field belonging to the Selangor State Economic Development Corporation (PKNS) and PJLP2, in Shah Alam yesterday.

PJLP2 created a controversy when the report referred by the state JPBD found the public field owned by PKNS was zoned as a recreational and open space while the document referred by Petaling Jaya City Council found it had been zoned as a commercial zone.

Teng said if PJLP2 was not revoked, it could be challenged by any parties through legal action as it had several weaknesses.

He said the findings of the Selcat hearing would be tabled at the next state legislative assembly as there was not sufficient time to prepare a report for the session next Monday.
