Husam Musa, the Kelantan exco in charge of economic planning, finance and welfare, has been urged to clarify why he is ‘protecting’ a senior officer of Kelantan Golden Trade Sdn Bhd (KGT) who stands accused of misconduct.

The company produces currency in dinar (gold coins) and dirham (silver coins) and is wholly owned by the Kelantan Menteri Besar Corporation.

According to an Utusan Malaysia report today, a Japanese investor named Takao Kono had lodged a police report on May 28, claiming that the senior officer had cheated him of US$1 million (RM3.19 million).

The third police report was lodged on Jan 31 by former KGT executive director Nik Mahani Mohamad alleging misconduct by the senior officer while holding an important post in the company.

Utusan also cited blogger Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz (left) , who was once worked with PMBK and was a close associate of Husam until they had a falling out.

Syed Azidi called on the people of Kelantan to pressure Husam to come up with an explanation.

He claimed Husam knows about the three police reports, but that the senior officer was still given another important post in KGT after being removed from another post in the same company.
