A video compilation, containing footages of what transpired during the Bersih 3.0 rally last April 28, will be ready within two days, said Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.

He said the video, which would be made available to the media and uploaded on the ministry’s website once it was ready, contained “the good, bad and the ugly” visuals received from many parties throughout the rally.

“It is a genuine footage. I want people to look at it in the proper perspective,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters in Putrajaya today, following a courtesy call from International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Head of Operations for East Asia, SouthEast Asia and the Pacific, Alain Aeschlimann.

Hishammuddin said it was up to the public whether they trusted the video, adding that should anyone doubt it (the video), they could take it to related bodies.

“I know there are people who are arrogant and prejudiced to the point of disbelieving whatever we say. Nevertheless, I believe the majority of the people want peace and transformation, and at the same time, want a balance in security, public order, freedom and rights.”

Asked whether a probe conducted by the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) would confuse the public since there was already a panel set up to investigate the matter, Hishammuddin said that either way, it was to inform the public on what actually transpired that day.

“I think you must give credit to the Malaysian public to sieve through the information that is available.

“In the context of Bersih, I would like to see those who are guilty to face justice.

“We cannot change the facts, and this is what we intend to present so that irresponsible quarters cannot twist them to suit their own agenda,” he added.

On the ministry’s action based on Suhakam’s findings on the rally, Hishammuddin said whatever the findings would take its normal course.
