PAS: GE13 tsunami wave will roar from south

PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali predicted that the political tsunami will start from the south for the 13th general election with Pakatan Rakyat making much headway in Johor, Malacca and Negri Sembilan.

Mustafa, in an exclusive interview with Sinar Harian today, predicted that Pakatan will retain the states captured in 2008 while winning back Perak and Terengganu.
He also boldly forecast that Negri Sembilan, Johor and Malacca will also fall to Pakatan, with the opposition coalition making heavy inroad into Pahang, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's home state.
"The tsunami will come from the south as the one from the north remains stagnant. Hence it will come from the south," he said.
Mustafa (right) said PAS is not concerned about Najib's apparent popularity as it was only artificially painted by the mainstream media.
He also said former civil servants have expressed interests in joining PAS, including a former secretary-general whose name will be made public during the Perhimpunan Hijau in Alor Setar tomorrow.
Mustafa also disclosed that seat negotiations for Negri Sembilan, Kelantan and Selangor have been concluded and negotiations are still continuing for the rest.
He vowed that the party would not betray its partners DAP and PKR, accusing the mainstream media of wrongly interpreting the issue of discussing cooperation with Umno.
"PAS is consistent in wanting to be with Pakatan," he said, adding that Umno initially appeared sincere but the present crop of leaders are not like that.
Mustafa also said PAS spiritual leader and Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat along with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang would contest in the coming election.
