Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will pay an official visit to China from May 27 to 31, the Chinese foreign ministry said today.

He will arrive at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao told a regular briefing.

Abdullah, who took office late last year, in February renewed a call for the establishment of an East Asian community as he sought closer integration with emerging economic giant China. - AFP
