The prosecution in the trial of a drug case involving comedy actor Mohd Saifulazam Mohamed Yusoff, better known as Saiful Apek, and three of his friends, closed its case today.

Following which, magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid set June 7 to hear submissions by both parties before deciding whether or not the accused should enter their defence.

Saiful Apek, 42, Shah Zainatull Ehsan Al-Muazam Shah Yahya, 28, Shaiful Baharom, 24, and Noremy Mohamad, 28, are charged with self-administration of the drug at the Narcotics Investigation Department’s office of the Subang Jaya police headquarters in Seri Kembangan, Petaling Jaya at 11pm on June 12, 2010.

They are charged under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a maximum imprisonment for two years or fine of up to RM5,000, if found guilty.

Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Ishrakh Saad appeared for the prosecution, while all the accused were represented by lawyers Zambri Idrus and Mohd Fadli Hashim.
